Small Town Newspaper Ads
Small town or community newspapers are not only very affordable, but they are highly followed by the senior community. Avoid using carrier names or specific plans and you will avoid compliance issues. You can design your own or have the newspaper assist you. Use phrases such as: "Turning 65 Soon?" "What To Know Your Options for Next Year?" Tell them when Annual Enrollment begins but that they should contact you now. Begin to run at the end of September and early October. Set your appointments while the other guys are starting to flood their mailboxes with postcards.
Form Partnerships
Visit your local pharmacies and establish a relationship. See if they will allow you to leave a rack of business cards left in a display labeled something like: "Questions About Medicare". Explain to the pharmacist that you will provide a service to their clients that keep them on the best plan - one that helps ensure that they can afford to continue to buy their drugs with them.
P & C Agencies - agree to send each other clients. Tell your clients that one of the services you offer is that you work with a P & C agency that seems to save most folks money. Once the P & C agent sees that you are holding your part of the bargain, they will be much more likely to reciprocate. You might also discuss being their guest speaker for a client appreciation night and discuss safe money - annuities and do a split on the sales.
Local Senior Centers - the free Medicare Braces will open a lot of doors for you and can make you more valuable than the other Medicare agents who also will be speaking to those same people. Check out our Resources Page on the Medicare Braces and find the gatekeeper in your counties. Go in the summer and line up speaking engagements for prime time - early October and set appointments for during Annual Enrollment Period.

Radio Spots
We recommend going to smaller towns and advertise on local radio. Campaigns can be as low as $35/month for 2 spots a week. Radio is very popular among many seniors and this can be an effective form of marketing. Consider the racial lines and support minority stations - they can be highly effective.
