A Note About Mailers - Mailers seem to be the most widely form of final expense leads. I'm not sure if its because the leads are that much better, or if it's because the agent can get in the disciple of scheduling an automated lead drop. Be advised, mailers are not cheap.
As a big-league ballplayer commits to practice on an ongoing basis, the consistent final expense producer commits to an ongoing direct mail system. If you can afford it, we do encourage agents to place an automated drop and use the other lead sources to help supplement your week. Why? They work.
Have you noticed how often organizations such as AARP, cruise lines, casinos, credit card and pharmaceutical companies send direct mail? These companies acknowledge that while the return is well below 2%, they get results and continue their mailings. Mail drops do not produce large numbers, but don't confuse that with not being profitable. Direct mail is not a cost, but an investment. For every 20 cards you receive back, you should write $2,000 to $5,000 in premium.

American Amicable & Senior Choice
AA and UHL will reward the agent who orders a drop a week. The leads cost $390 per drop of 1,000, but the leads drop to $370 if you order 4,000/month or more. But there is more. The give you more bang for your buck. They also include a Walk Sequence sheet. For every lead that was returned, you'll also learn of other homes on the same street who also received a mailer, but failed to return it. This allows the agent to call on those homes and begin a discussion about their final needs. It's like getting extra leads with every order. Many of those folks did not return our mailer simply because they returned somebody else's first. I've been in homes due to a mailer and have seen the exact same mailer on their counter from somebody else. A lead is a lead. These mailers have great value.

These leads run $375, but are not a postcard, but a tri-fold with a much higher rate of return. The average return rate is 1% - 3%. So for just a few bucks more, you may double or triple the value.
